"...my longing for [my family] has lessened due to the wonderfully supportive staff along with a very peaceful environment."

JOSEPHINE ABRAZADO,

Manufacturing Services

I relocated to Washington from the Philippines in March 2005.  I got my U.S. Citizenship from my father in 1996 but decided to finish my college education before moving to the states.  I received my B.S. degree with a dual major in Business Administration and Management Information Systems at "Computronix College Philippines" in 2003.  My mother, my daughter, Nadine Kirby, and my loving husband are now in the process of immigrating here.  It has been really hard to be so far away from my family.  However, when I joined Bridgeways as my first job in the states, my longing for them has lessened due to the wonderfully supportive staff along with a very peaceful environment.

I started at Bridgeways as an On-Call in March 2005 and became a full-time employee in February 2006.  Honestly speaking, I'd rather be working for a company like Bridgeways that is helping me to grow both personally and professionally.  I can genuinely say that I am extremely happy with what I am doing right now and that Bridgeways has provided me with many opportunities to improve my capabilities.  I appreciate the limitless opportunities to learn about various processes and functions and I owe Bridgeways many thanks for helping me to become what I am now.

Currently, I am a team leader in the Wire Shop area where we do labeling, assembly, kitting jobs, and packaging.  I am responsible for shipping, receiving, managing the production schedule, ensuring that our customers' varied requests are met, and supervising the quality process.  All of these interrelated responsibilities have improved my time-management skills which has really benefited me on a daily basis.  Our motto in the Wire Shop is: "It is better to work slow with quality on the job rather than work fast without quality."

Work, of course, is not the only thing that should give life meaning but it sure helps.  Being productive, earning a wage, and paying my way helps me to feel alive, real, and valued.  Bridgeways has not only helped me financially but spiritually, and emotionally as well.  I am so proud to be a member of this dedicated team.
