Bridgeways moves toward AS9100 Certification ... Everyone knows that QUALITY, VALUE, and CUSTOMER SERVICE are three of the most important factors associated with business success. Of these three, consistent high quality can be the most elusive. We are very proud of the bold steps we are taking to become AS9100 Certified by January 2008. AS9100 is an international aerospace standard that establishes common standards for use at all levels of the supply chain in any size organization. The standards are designed to be user friendly. They are generic in nature and follow a logical, easy to understand format. Implementation results in improved quality and safety and a decrease in costs. As we move toward this certification, it has become quite apparent to everyone that this is exactly what we have always done, only now we will have the official paperwork and the historical data to prove our continuous quality improvement actions. Our process started with developing a Steering Committee of key personnel. This committee meets weekly to develop and track our process. They also worked with our Quality Coordinator to complete the Quality Manual, and then came the Procedures and finally the Work Instruction, which are the step-by-step requirements to standardize the processes we take with each new customer request. A series of Quality Procedure Tests were developed to help all understand the process.
