Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Currently, we are seeking community-oriented individuals for the following:

Masters Level Clinical Internship/Practicum

Bridgeways’ Mental Health internship program is specifically designed to provide lasting clinical experience and education for interns by closely working with licensed experienced clinicians in respective supervised settings.

This unpaid internship program enhances classroom instruction and teaches the skills, attitude and knowledge to interns in a community mental health clinic setting. The intern develops clinical skills by building constructive working relationships with a small caseload of clients, developing collaborative treatment/recovery plans and evaluating progress during individual and group sessions. The program also teaches the intern to document their work in professionally acceptable formats, practicing Collaborative Documentation within a Recovery philosophy.

Bridgeways is committed to providing professional training on HIPAA, confidentiality, safety and other topics. The clinical interns receive weekly supervision by an approved supervisor and participate in group supervision/care consultations and staff/team meetings.

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree completed, in school completing Master’s degree in Human Services, Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work;
  • 6 months commitment 1-2 days per week (M-F, days available);
  • WA State Agency-Affiliated Counselor credential or comparable credential

Internship is the culminating activity in the training of most students with counseling majors. It consists of actual counseling experiences with clients and the integration and application of the counselor's competencies. Internship provides the counselor-in-training the opportunity to utilize counseling skills, tools, and knowledge in counseling situations under supervision.
